Building and Painting Tips

First sand any flash from around the edge of the part.

Use a small file to remove any flash from the windows.

It’s a good idea to wash all parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove any mold release.

You can use CA or 5 Minute Epoxy to build your kit. I would suggest the CA. It is cleaner to use and dries much faster. Use it sparingly at first placing just a small bead on the edge of the part. You can come back later and place a larger bead along the inside seam to firm the kit up. You can also use a Kicker or Zip Kicker to cause the CA glue to set instantly. Both CA and Kicker are available at your local hobby dealer.

Any paint can be used to paint your kit. I used water based acrylics on all of the kits on the web site. You can use an airbrush or just a brush. It may be a good idea to prime the parts prior to painting them. If you are going to paint stripes on your kit or need to mask anything off, it is a good idea to stick the masking tape to the leg of your pants or any other fabric 2 or 3 times to remove some of the stickiness of the tape. This will help keep from pulling the base color off when you remove the tape. Also be sure to file the paint off of any area you will glue to after painting. Such as tip outs, roofs, or steps and porches.

After weathering your kit you can seal it with a dull clear coat or you can leave it as is.
